Bars are places for people to go out, chat with friends and have fun. For many, having fun means including their furry friend. Many owners like to spend as much time as possible with their dogs, and when choosing a bar they opt for pet-friendly ones.
By having a pet-friendly bar you must be ready to welcome dogs and offer comforts that make sure the furry guest and the owner enjoy their time together and want to come back.
This means who you want to serve and how you intend to serve them. Of course dog owners are part of it, but that can include a lot of people.
Location matters for any bar, and you need to be accessible to pets! You will probably keep customers and their furry companions in seating areas and outdoors, which also means you will need tables and chairs suited for outdoor use.
But an outdoor area is not required to be a pet-friendly bar. Many bars accommodate their customers and pets indoors. It's worth remembering that many dogs, including large ones, are very well behaved. Even trained!
A pet-friendly bar will need a trained team to keep things running smoothly. Make sure these people are comfortable working with dogs, and are neither allergic nor afraid of them.
Set some guidelines. Make sure employees limit their physical contact with dogs, especially if they are handling food. And of course, remind them to wash their hands after any contact, because it isn't always possible to resist a cuddle…
Make sure people in your area know they can bring their furry friend to your bar. And more than just letting them know, encourage them! Post on your social media and leave promotional material in places like pet shops.
Check with the health surveillance agency (Vigilância Sanitária) in your city to find out where your pet customers are allowed to stay. In general, outdoor areas are the best options.
Many pet-friendly bars offer comforts for dogs, such as a water bowl and even a special treat. If you want to go further, have special little mats. Customize them with your bar's brand/logo. The investment is not high, and owners and dogs will love it.
So, ready to become a pet-friendly bar? It's quite a differentiator for your establishment! And if you need one more differentiator, how about offering self-pour draft beer to your customers? Let's chat!

At the largest motorcycle and rock festival in Latin America, with about 800,000 people over ten days, self-pour beer kept pace with the event's growth without losing control. In the 2026 edition, the volume served rose more than 18% and the number of sales grew almost 29%, while operational efficiency went from 89% to 93%. The case shows how smart taps sustain beverage operations when the crowd arrives in waves.

In high season, the bar line is one of the biggest bottlenecks at a park or resort: visitors give up, miss out on the attractions and the operation loses sales. Self-pour beer ends the wait, cuts beverage service staff by up to 80% and reduces waste from about 15% to 3%, with real-time consumption data for management.

At a festival's peak, the bar line is where revenue slips away. Self-pour draft beer ends the wait, cuts service staff by up to 80% and reduces waste from about 15% to 3%. With real-time consumption data, the operation decides on the spot and sells more at the moment that matters most.
